1st Military Police Close Protection Workshop, 11-13 April 2016 is organized to support Military Police Community of Interest

Start 11 Apr 2016 08:00
End 13 Apr 2016 16:00
1st Military Police Close Protection Workshop (MPCPW) is a perfect example of sufficient enhancement, provided by the NATO Military Police Centre of Excellence (NATO MPCOE) in response to Request for Support (RFS) which was sent by the Military Police Panel. The main aim to be achieved is to asset possible solutions and define options for the improvement of MP Close Protection Teams cooperation in mission. The event is organised at the NATO MPCOE in Bydgoszcz on 11-13 April 2016.
on April 2016

The Workshop stems from an insider attack (Green on Blue – aggression of an Afghan policeman/ soldier on coalition forces in Afghanistan) which took place in Kabul on 5th August 2014. Lessons Identified and Lessons Learned have been determined and consequently close protection needs and standardised procedures, when working on an international basis require to be developed. Therefore the major task of the Workshop is to define options for the improvement of MP Close Protection Teams cooperation in mission. The outcome of the event is to be presented at the Military Police Panel (MPP). During the Workshop several objectives need to be specified: creating consistent SOPs on MP Close Protection when working internationally, forming one responsible POC for all close protections teams/nations being in charge of the operation as well as providing a common operational and conceptional understanding of security and standardizing means and procedures of communication between allied troops.
The final result of the Workshop, namely NATO MP COE Recommendation Report will be issued to the Military Police Panel. If a need of creating new Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) is identified, a respective request shall be submitted.
