Course gives a broad understanding of MP competences and explains how it can result in MP and gendarmerie types further integration in theatre. Therefore, all participants are better prepared to support the Joint Forces Commander.
Accordingly, it provides detailed awareness regarding administrative and personnel issues as well as commander’s intent in NATO. After course accomplishment students can explain the individual countries’ MP capabilities, solve, execute commander’s intent, as well as provide recommendations on MP employment to commanders in multinational environment. Amongst all lectures, the most interesting was the one prepared by Guest Speakers from 18th U.S. Military Police Brigade on “Command Team Relationship”, who underlined the core rules of officer and NCO relationship: understanding, communication, mutual support and respect.
Course participants also had an opportunity to talk to MG Mark S. INCH, Commander Provost Marshal General U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command and CSM Timothy Fitzgerald, Provost Command Sergeant Major. USA MP representatives gave a briefing on commanding skills, as well as building relationship and management within an international environment.
One of the key elements of the course was work in syndicates, where all participants had a possibility to check their new skills in practice. Subgroup evaluations were supervised by experienced facilitators who provided support and gave advice on more complicated issues. Results of those deliberations were subsequently presented during plenary sessions and discussions.
