To deliver the high standard of the course, the NATO MP COE gathered lecturers representing numerous institutions and organisations, i.e. Warsaw University, Military Training Centre for Foreign Operations, the Czech Military Police, Allied Command Operations, National Defense University of Bucharest and many others.
The NATO MP SrOC OPR LTC Mirosław ŁABĘCKI delivered a broad list of activities for students.
Course attendees not only listened to interesting lectures and took part in syndicate work but also learned about most important MP related subjects which contained among others: planning in NATO, NATO from MP perspective, Global Programming and Leadership in Multinational Environment.
Students also had an opportunity: to familiarize themselves with NATO Standardization Office Documents Database online, undergo media training in front of a camera, as well as partake in the Coalition Warrior Interoperability eXploration, eXperimentation, eXamination, eXercise (CWIX) held at the Joint Force Training Centre.
One of the key guest speakers during the MP SrOC was GEN Pavel KŘÍŽ, who provided the course participants with information on the Czech MP organisational structure and territorial competence, major capabilities, mission, as well as legislative framework. His brief was followed by a series of questions and discussions regarding MP capabilities.
Evaluation of the course, which was conducted on a daily basis, provided that the most appreciated part of the agenda was Media Training, led by David Bennett and supported by the NATO MP COE Public Affairs Officer.
That former journalist, with more than 30 years of experience of work with various media, familiarised students with different types of media and delivered a lecture on Interview Preparation which was followed by practical exercises. Students practised new skills in front of a camera and were involved in preparation for a press interview.
It is worth emphasizing that the most appreciated and unique part of the course was an official visit of GEN Denis MERCIER, SACT on 24 June 2016. He was welcomed by the Director of the Centre, COL Grzegorz WASIELEWSKI, who introduced key personnel to the General, as well as the NATO MP SrOC students. “Please, be advocates of the NATO MP COE in your countries” GEN MERCIER requested course attendees. During his speech, the distinguished guest also recognised the role of the Centre in enhancing MP capabilities within NATO and PfP countries.
The subsequent edition of the MP SrOC will be conducted next year on 08-12 May 2017. The registration for the training event will be opened three months prior to the course.
