The Day 1 session is focused on the discussion regarding “Close Protection in a Pandemic: COVID-19 Practices, Observations and Lessons Identified/Lessons Learned”, as well as constitutes an introduction to the Close Protection Unit at the NATO HQ in Brussels, responsible for close protection of the NATO Secretary General.

Main objective of the event is to share experience in the scope of close protection within a multinational environment to strengthen understanding of complex close protection considerations in NATO operations, including the necessity of cross-functional and inter–institutional cooperation, as well as close collaboration to foster security as a whole.
