Start 21 Sep 2020 00:00
End 25 Sep 2020 00:00
The NATO Military Police Centre of Excellence has successfully conducted the 8th edition of the NATO Military Police Junior Officer Course 2020.
on September 2020
Due to the overall crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and in accordance with ACT’s guidance, the NATO MP COE had taken a decision to convert this year’s residential course into a distance learning one. Thus, the Centre organised the 1st edition of the e-Learning NATO Military Police Junior Officer Course 2020 (eLMPJOC20) on 21-25 SEPT 2020. We had the pleasure of hosting participants from all over the world, from New Zealand through Europe up to Western Canada. 28 students from 14 NATO and Partner Nations worked together within 18 hours of time difference.

The focal point was to provide initial knowledge on the NATO MP/Gendarmerie international cooperation in order to develop a common understanding of the differences in capabilities and culture of nations enhancing MP INTEROPERABILITY* in NATO-led operations. The course provided students with an introductory level of knowledge to NATO MP Doctrines, Core Functions and Operations. Moreover, it showed how to best integrate them in support of multinational operations within the wider context of NATO and international community.

This year’s event included numerous new activities, which were challenging both for students and for the Centre’s staff. To remain focused on improvement of the course quality, the COE offers a new scope of knowledge and experience shared by lecturers from various countries and institutions.

It is also worth underscoring that the number of applicants for this year’s course was higher than seat availability which proves that the course has a good reputation among the NATO and Partner Nations MP Community of Interest. This motivates the COE to maintain high quality standards, which are recognised by the designated ACT authorities.

The NATO MP COE Director would like to express his appreciation and gratitude to external speakers from SHAPE, Danish MP, 18th MP Brigade USAEUR, NFIU Poland, JFTC, civilian sector and to the NATO MP COE personnel for providing tremendous support to the Course curriculum.
